Selma Tekir

Associate Professor

Selma Tekir studied B.S. in Computer Engineering at Ege University. She received her M.S. in Computer Engineering from Izmir Institute of Technology. In 2009, she worked as a visiting researcher at Faculty of Computer Science Chair for Databases, Data Analysis and Visualization at University of Konstanz-Germany. Tekir received a PhD in computer engineering from Ege University in 2010. Her research interests include machine learning for NLP, NLP applications, the combination of NLP with symbolic reasoning.

Samet Tenekeci

Research Assistant

Samet Tenekeci received his B.Sc. (2014) and M.Sc. (2019) degrees in Computer Engineering from Izmir University and Dokuz Eylül University, respectively. He also studied Computer Science at Witelon University of Applied Sciences as an exchange student. He previously worked as a Software Engineer at BroadAngle (2014) and AirTies Wireless Networks (2017). He is currently working as a teaching assistant and pursuing his Ph.D. at the Department of Computer Engineering, Izmir Institute of Technology. His research interests include bioinformatics, natural language processing, and deep learning.

Cansu Özkan

Research Assistant

Cansu Özkan received her B.Sc. degree (2020) in Computer Engineering from Izmir University of Economics as the highest-ranking student. She obtained her M.Sc. degree (2022) in Computer Engineering from the same university. She is currently working as a teaching assistant and pursuing her Ph.D. at the Department of Computer Engineering, Izmir Institute of Technology. Her research interests include Speech Emotion Recognition and Natural Language Processing.

Ege Yiğit Çelik

Research Assistant

Research Assistant Ege Yiğit Çelik received his B. Sc. (2021) in Computer Engineering from Izmir Institute of Technology. He is currently pursuing his M.Sc. in Computer Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology. His current research interests are Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning.

Bekir Ufuk Haman

Data Analyst

Bekir Ufuk Haman received his B.Sc. (2018) in Computer Engineering from Bahçehehir University. He previously worked as a Python developer and solution consultant (2020) at Cloudyflex. Currently, he continues his M.Sc. in Computer Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology and works as a Data Analyst at ShipsGo. His main research interests include NLP, transformers and document classification.

Mahmut Ağralı

Research Assistant

Mahmut Ağralı received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Izmir Kâtip Çelebi University in 2021, followed by his Master's degree from the same department in 2023. He is currently working as a research assistant and is pursuing his Ph.D. at Izmir Institute of Technology, specializing in deep learning and natural language processing.

Muhammed Ali Şahin

Muhammad Ali Sahin received his Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Izmir Institute of Technology in 2022. He continues his Master's degree in Computer Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology. His research interests are Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.
